- A team of passionate, experienced animal lovers
- A happy, stimulating work environment so we can all work to the best of our abilities
- Substantial 12 Vet practice
One of our lovely vets is getting married and is moving elsewhere so it’s time for a new, full time, permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. You thrive in a busy small animal hospital and enjoy a varied caseload. You will be working alongside an incredibly supportive, fun and friendly team and you are confident and experienced enough to handle sole charge cases.
Very sadly for us (but congratulations to him!) our lovely vet Matt is getting married and is moving to Edinburgh so we need a new full time permanent Veterinary Surgeon.
We understand that many people and their animals dislike the whole experience of going to the vet, however, we think things can be different. At The Neighbourhood Vet, we want pets to be happy and we have created a practice which ensures a positive experience.
The Neighbourhood Vet is a progressive 12 vet practice with certificate holders in medicine, cardiology and surgery and we pride ourselves in offering the best. A varied caseload (and lots of toys) can be expected to help enhance your skills and you will be working alongside an incredible supportive, fun and friendly team.
Extremely responsive, knowledgeable and friendly! My puppy is on the boisterous side, and they are always very understanding, and approach him gently (and with lots of treats!). They are on top of current developments and the latest research, and do not encourage unnecessary procedures or medication. I would highly recommend this practice! – Thea (Google Review)
About this role
The role is for a 4 day week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 6 Sundays with no after-hours or bank holiday work. The current role is to work 2 days at the hospital in East Dulwich and 2 days at the branch practice in Penge which now has 2 vets working on Mondays and Thursdays rather than just one as it is growing rapidly.
We are looking for someone who is kind, compassionate, confident, very good with clients and who feels they can be part of our superb team.
- You are confident and experienced enough to handle sole charge cases (with support of the hospital and other vets 15 minutes away)
- Experience of and the ability to thrive in a busy small animal hospital would be an advantage
- You must be MRCVS registered
- Certificate holder (medicine/ surgery/ ophthalmology) or someone who wanted to study for one, would be desirable
As the name implies, East Dulwich sits in southeast London, pretty much due south of the City of London and The Shard.
With a high street full of independent shops, good local pubs, a tree-studded green, and lots of colourful doors, the neighbourhood has a distinct village feel. And that’s to say nothing of the restaurants and cafes. This part of East Dulwich is packed with bakeries, coffee shops, and other places to eat. They all add to the atmosphere of the market each weekend. Which together make our location an ideal workplace for individuals, couples and families alike.
